I disagree and agree with you and with the article in runners world. I find it absurd that I and many others who were well qualified were locked out of 2010 and 2011 Boston. (I say this b/c it closed the day before I qualified in 2009 and I got locked out fall 2010).Now I and many others who do treat running as a sport, were well trained and well qualified for Boston are unable to run it thank you 2 year qualifying range. I will admit that I am more frustrated than most b/c I trained very hard and due to my job and life it is now going to be very difficult to train appropriately to qualify and run boston in the near future. Intern year is not kind to doctors.As far as making it harder, that was inevitable and honestly I dont have a problem with it 2 years is plenty of notice. However, I must say I am still very frustrated by their lack of response to what used to be considered a race where if earned the right to run and chose to pay the fee you ran.
