"A compassionate wonderful teacher,"- Sapphire" “Dorothy Friedman August is a terrific writing teacher. She is a finely tuned reader of poetry who ferrets out what does and doesn't work in a poem. Her feedback was instrumental in helping my writing rise to a new level.” -Prabu Vasan

"Dorothy Friedman August is a poetry teacher with a deep understanding of poetry and can see enigmatic as well as original work as valid, as well as appreciating simple poetic truth, I would recommend studying with her to anyone seriously involved with the noble poetic art." -Matthew Anish
