May 9, 2026
The New York Rainbow Book Fair, now in its 14th year, is the largest LGBTQIA+ literary event in the United States, bringing together more than 100 authors, artists, publishers, and literary organizations that represent the full spectrum of queer storytelling. The fair offers a vibrant space for diverse voices and narratives, from indie zines and poetry to scholarly works and graphic novels.
Founded in 2001 by Nathaniel Siegel and Regie Cabico for the Rainbow Book Fair, Come Hear! is a queer reading series that has been hosted by The LGBT Center since 2008. Since 2024, A Gathering of the Tribes has produced the Come Hear! marathon reading series.
This year, founders Nathaniel Siegel and Regie Cabico were joined by co-curators Drew Pisarra and Irene Villaseñor. The marathon featured more than 30 authors who shared original poetry and prose, with six to eight writers reading each hour throughout the day.
