ILLNESS

it is awful and horrible−
it is the horror of many
it's shaped me and grown me
like rot in an ancient wound

it has made me myself,
like the ocean and sea
twinkling and sparkling,
and lining my tomb

in it i find meaning
in it i find sorrow
there is room for both
there is room for and

and all of the feelings
tonight through tomorrow
it has been awful
it has been grand
